Spring 2010 Refund Checks

Yesterday was the disbursement date for all Spring 2010 funds. The process began last evening and will continue through today of transferring all financial aid funds to student's accounts. After this transfer is complete, our business office will begin to process refund checks. The refund check process takes about 2 weeks.

The first batch of refund checks are scheduled to be released on 2/12/10.

Refund check will be created every subsequent friday.

If you have signed up for direct deposit and your refund is scheduled to be released, your refund will be sent to your bank on 2/12/10.

If you need to sign up for direct deposit you can access your campus Cruiser account and input your information under your Web Advisor.

  1. So if i show a refund due today. I should get a check on the 12th in the 1st batch?

  2. I have a student loan. My funds were not applied to my account. I got a loan last semester and I didn't think there was anything else I needed to do this semester for my loan. Was there anything I should have done or why wasn't my funds applied?

  3. If I signed up for direct deposit last semester do I need to sign up again?

  5. I have some questions.
If we look up on Campus Cruiser under WebAdvisor and click Account Summary, would the negative figure at the bottom be the amount of the refund check?
If we signed up for direct deposit last semester, would we have to do it again?

Would those that signed up for direct deposit automatically be in the batch for 02/12/2010 or would it possibly be on one of the subsequent Fridays depending on when you applied for FA?
    Thanks!

  7. There are a number of reasons why your loans may not have come through for this semester. It may be easiest to come into the office and have an officer take a look at your account.

    Tank you for your comment!

  8. As long as your account number and routing number are still correct, you will not need to input new Direct Deposit information.

  9. On your Webadvisor, the negative number on your account summary is going to be your refund amount.

As long as your financial aid is complete, you should be in the first batch of refunds. Once your negative refund amount goes to $0, this will let you know that your refund has been created.

  10. I have a balance due of a 160 and I don't know why but I also applied for a loan...how do I know when the loan is applied to my account and if I will get a refund check. Is it because I just mailed in my MPN???

    ReplyDelete
  11. Since your lender requires a signed MPN on file before they will release your funds, I am sure this is why your loan funds have been delayed. Once your lender receives your MPN, they will release the funds and we can process your refund check.

  12. I see that on my account summary there is no negative number... only a positive. Is the line that says "REFUNDS" on the account summary page the amount we will have direct deposited to our account as long as we signed up ?

  13. My Pell grant posted but my loans have not. I had loans last sememster so I am sure that there is no problem. Do some loans just take longer to fund?

  14. You are correct!

Once your refund amount shows as a negative number, you will know that your refund has been created. Once you notice that the refund has gone to $0, that will notify you that the refund has been created and will be deposited within 48 hours.

  15. If you had loans this previous semester and you are currently enrolled in 6 credit hours your loans should have already come through. Please contact our office and we can figure out what may be delaying your loan disbursements.

  16. I signed up for direct deposit about 2 weeks ago but it does not show at my bank where they did a verifcation (the 0.00 charge). Does this mean it mite have the wrong account info?

  17. If you went to school and the fall and spring semester 2009/2010 can you get financial aid for the summer of 2010

  18. I had a negative amount until Monday, when the balance went to zero. So I could see my direct deposit go through any day now? Maybe even before the 12th?

  19. When Will The Loan Disbursements Be Sent Out? Student Loan Corp Sent Disbursement Date Was 2/1/10 So Does That Mean My Check Will Be Mailed On 2/10/10? Or Will All Checks Come On 2/12/10

  20. i signed up for direct deposit on cc on feb 5th because they said you had to have it done by then. But i put the wrong routing number, so i had to go in and change it the next day. I got an email on the 8th saying that my account that i entered was an unparticipating account..what does that mean? also i called my bank when i realized i had put the wrong routing number in, so i would know the correct number. My account on cc is now 0.00, when before it was a negative number, what happened to the money? will i just get a paper check or what? because i corrected the routing number so i know it's the right now, but then i got that email, so what do i need to do? I called a lady in the business office, and i told her what i did about putting the wrong routing number in,and she told me that they would send me an email either that day or the next day, telling me if i had the correct info or an error, that's when i got that email on the 8th, but i know i put the right number in there, so i dont understand what's really going on. She told me either they would send the email, or i would eventually get the paper check. It's saying 0.00 now, and i dont have any money in my bank account nor have i got a check in the mail. Will i get a paper check when the first batch arrives? Or will i have money in my bank account on the 12th?

  21. If I am showing a positive REFUND amt on today's date should I have had my refund deposited by now or will it be on 2/12/10?

    ReplyDelete
  22. I don't believe the loans have been sent out for anyone yet. You said it "should" have been sent out, but everyone I know on the campus has not received their loans yet. The process is 100% completed for myself and a few of my friends as well. (Including the signature, etc.)

  23. Was I suppose to get a trial deposit of 0.00 if signed up for direct deposit? If so, I didn't but my account is correct and active.

  24. What time do direct deposits happen? Are they usually at midnight or do they occur sometime during the day? I'm just curious.

  25. hey i have a question if my refund say 0 dollors and i had direct depoiste from last sematier why didnt i get it in the bank

  26. It's the 12th, I show a $0 on amounts due and the refund amount applied. I have direct deposit set up. I don't see the refund in my account.

  27. Regarding your direct deposit and the refund check. When your account shows a negative balance that means that there has been more money applied to your account that you owe in tuition and fees. Once your account goes to $0 that means that your refund has been created. Our business office only disburses funds on fridays, beginning with 2/12/10. Also, if you have signed up for direct deposit, it will be sent to your bank on the friday after your refund has been created,

  28. I thought that if we had direct deposit our money was to go into our bank account on the 12th abd mine is there.

  29. There are certain types of financial aid available in the Summer 2010 semester but it depends on your specific account. I would advise you to come into the office and we can let you know what you may qualify for in Summer 2010.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I would advise to contact the Business Office regarding the exact time of the direct deposits, as they are the ones who actually send them out. They can be reached at 250-8035.

  31. You may want to check with your bank to see if there has been a deposit made. Sometimes it may take time for your bank to accept the deposit and apply it to your account.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I had direct deposit last semester and a refund this semester. I just checked my account and no money has been deposited and they do not have any pending deposits

    ReplyDelete
  33. Do they direct deposit the funds at random times during the day? My friend got his direct deposit at 12:00, but I still haven't received mine.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Do you know the date in his e-check email? I got mine this morning (the email, not the refund), and it's dated 2-10. I'm hoping it will post to my bank today. Also, what does your friends last name start with? Mine starts with "T".

    ReplyDelete
  35. My bank says mine is pending but for the 16th, which makes no sense at all.

  36. So basically GTC LIED about getting money faster through Direct Deposit. Ohhh, you'll get your money faster with it, -=rolls eyes=- Yeah right. I recieved an email last week saying:

"By enrolling by February 5th, Greenville Tech will waive the normal 10-day processing time to ensure that your refund for the spring term arrives via direct deposit."

Now, maybe I'm confused about what the word WAIVE means. Ohh wait, no it means exactly what I think it means.

Waive: to put aside or dismiss from consideration or discussion.

Then I receive an email saying I may have to wait 2 to 3 Business days. What was the 10 Business days about then?

  37. After reading your blog, I found out I was misinformed about FAFSA, and thought I didn't qualify.
Ironically, how information gets misinformed, thanks to your article I went ahead and applied for FAFSA sucessfully.
I hope to receiving financial aid for my courses soon.

    Thank you!

  40. When will financial aid awards for summer show up on our account- is it after grades are posted? I have never attended in the summer and I dont think I qualify for student loans again until the fall. I am hoping the pell grant and lottery money will cover my tuition. I was just wondering when that showed up. Thanks!

  41. Financial Aid awards for the Summer 2010 semester should start posting the second week in May.
