For starters, if you are a Pell grant recipient and you came full time in Fall and Spring, you may be eligible to receive an additional Pell disbursement this summer.

If a student changes from an Associates program to a Diploma or Certificate program, will the FA award amounts (sub, unsub, lottery and Pell grant) change as well?
ReplyDeleteAre there any other loan programs avaible for students which will help them with housing?
ReplyDeleteWhat are the qualifications for a summer loan?
ReplyDeleteIf I have direct deposit when will the refund be deposited in my bank account
ReplyDeletefOR SUMMER DISBURSMENT WILL DIRECT DEPOSIT BE BEFORE 10 BUISNESS DAYS OR WILL IT ALSO TAKE THAT LONG?
ReplyDeleteIf I have direct deposit when will my summer refund go in the bank?
ReplyDeleteThe Pell Grant and Lottery awards based on the number of credit hours that you are taking. So, making this change, should not affect the amount of Pell and/or Lottery that you receive. However, you may run into an issue with the 150% rule, if you have taken over 150% of the number of credit hours it would take to graduate from your new program. Also, you can not be considered a grade level two student for student loans. this may prevent you from obtaining the maximum on student loans.

Why does it take 10 days to release a check that I have been approved for for months?
ReplyDeleteHere is my situation: I am enrolled in 6hrs (2 courses) this summer. My FA Award is more than my fees so I am due a refund. I am struggling in one course and considering withdrawing from it pending the grade of our first test this week. My question is this, if I withdraw, will my financial aid loan award amount be changed since I will still be charged for the course anyway? My concern is that if I drop the course, my award will be changed since I will technically only be enrolled in 3 hours. I do not want to end up having to pay this summer's tuition out of pocket. Is it better to wait until the business office processes the payments/refunds for summer before I decide to withdraw?
ReplyDeleteWhen will our funds be posted to our account that show our tution, books and fees are paid and how much our refund will be?
ReplyDeleteI know from your earlier post that the first checks for summer will be sent out to us around the 18th, when will the second checks be sent?
ReplyDeleteAre the refunds being mailed out in two installments like last summer? It seems only half of my refund is posted right now on my account summary. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteWhat is the date for the second dispursement of the summer student loans?
ReplyDeleteI constantly have my finances deposited around 3 weeks after the loan company has disbursed it to Tech. Is it a requirement that we have the funds sent to tech first, or can we alert them that we want the funds from the loaner to come to us, then we pay Tech fees out of pocket. I am tired of constantly calling the business office and NEVER getting anyone to pu, leaving msgs, and NEVER getting a response. Please let me know, as this is a time consuming task to try and ensure I am getting my refund. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteThe second batch of refund checks were disbursed this past Friday. The money is being transferred to your account and the normal 10 business day refund period still applies. So your refund checks should be sent out next Friday on July 9th.

The award letters for 2010-2011 are different than in previous years. You will NOT need to sign and return your award letter unless you want to make changes to the awards you have been given. If you want to accept all that you have been awarded, then simply verify the amounts you see on your award letter, and keep a copy for your records. Also, you will need to sign an authorization form for us to apply your financial aid to your tuition bill. We have mailed one of these forms with your award letter.

Stafford loan are required to be certified and sent through your host school. There are additional certification and safeguard measures that we go through to verify that you are eligible for your loan funds before you actually receive them. Our Business Office does have up to 10 business days to send out refund checks once they receive the fund, which will explain the 3 week time frame after the disbursement date.
